Real Men of Genius

Time Length
  • 3 blocks
Instructions
  1. This is an individual project, but when you record you can get a backup singer to be on your song.
  2. Choose from the following scientists and make a song about them to the tune of "Real Men of Genius."
  3. Example of how the song goes
    1. Scientists List: Henry Mosely, Niels Bohr, Dmitri Mendelev, Ernest Rutherford, J.J. Thompson,Democritus, John Dalton, Robert Millikan, & James Chadwick.
  4. You will be required to sing the song using the I Am TPain App, which will make you sound good, but you cant sing quietly or it wont work. (and youll get a bad grade)
Day 1 - Read all instructions and listen to examples then start.
  1. Find out what the most important thing or things related to chemistry that your scientist did, and find some interesting facts about them.
  2. Use these facts to fill in the song formula below (due today). Listen to the example here to know how it will sound with the app.
  3. Underlined parts need to be replaced by you.
  4. Things in parenthesis are sung loud. Non Parenthesis are the spoken part.
  5. You can embellish the song more if you would like to or change it up to suit your needs. For example, you dont have to just repeat the end of the previous line. You can comment on it. For example "without you we wouldnt know about the atomic theory" would be one line, and the next could be "you were really close to right, but thats still wrong." Doing that will make it a more interesting song.
  6. When it says describe how he did it, you need to keep it short. Find a way to summarize it or break it up into multiple lines. If yours is short you can add more facts about your scientist as well there.
  7. Please note that the only time you say the scientists name is at the end of the

Day 2
  1. Practice your song, and be prepared to record when you are called.
  2. Record singing your song in the closet with Mr Bair's "I Am T-Pain" app on his phone. (or yours if you have it)

  4. Sing close to the phone and click the disk in the upper right hand corner to save when you are done.
  5. Rename the track "period - your name " Example "2-Jason Bair".
  6. Click share and email it to jbair@frenship.us
